Michael Hunt to be
consultant for the new Youth Inline Program
The
Holbrook Sports Center is proud to announce that 5 time Team Rink Rat
National Champion and 3 time Team Canada member Michael Hunt will
be the consultant for the new Youth Hockey Inline Program at the Holbrook
Sports Center in April 2007.
His hockey career includes:
Mike first hit the ice at age
2, but in 1998 he hung up his blades and put on wheels. During the 2002-3
season he founded Team Rink Rat.
2005 World Games Duisburg
Germany: Mike played for Team Canada at the World Games In Duisburg
Germany, Team Canada had a great showing going undefeated in the round
robin but fell short in the finals losing the Gold Medal game to the Team
USA.
Canada took home the silver
after out shooting the Americans 58-28. After the game Mike announced his
retirement from the Canadian National Team as a player and will now join
the coaching staff as an assistant coach.
2005: Team Rink Rat becomes Back to Back to Back 3 time National Champions
winning the $40,000 Prize at the Torhs National Championships held in
Taylor Michigan. Team Rink Rat went undefeated again stretching their
unprecedented unbeaten streak in National Championship games to 33-0-1
over the course of 3 years. Rink Rat’s Pro Team is considered the best in
the World.
2005: Team Rink Rat goes undefeated again winning the $10,000 Torhs Winter
National Pro series. Team Rink Rat undefeated streak went to an
unprecedented 26-0-1 in National Championship games.
2004: TORHS PRO CHAMPIONS: Team Rink Rat became the first back to back
National champions winning their 2nd straight $40,000 prize. Rink Rat
extended their tournament unbeaten streak to 21-0-1 over the course of
their 3 championships.
Team Rink Rat defeated the Tour Mudcats 8-2 in the
finals, and now must be considered as the best Pro roller hockey team in
the world.
2004: Team Canada, Sliver Medal Winners at the Firs World Championships
held in London Ontario.
2004: TORHS OVER 30 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS: Team Rink Rat over 30 senior team
won the National Championships in Detroit, Team Rink Rat over 30 team is
defending Winter and Summer National Champions.
2003: NARCH PRO CHAMPIONS: Team Rink Rat did what has never been done
before, they won back to back National Championships, winning the most
prestigious tourney of them all, and went undefeated again, going 7-0
beating the Tour Mudcats for the 2nd time this season in the Championship
game 4-3 in overtime. Thus Team Rink Rat can claim to be the best Pro
Roller Hockey Team in North Amercia.
2003: TORHS PRO SERIES CHAMPIONS: Team Rink Rat won the TORHS $40,000
National Championships in Rochester NY. Team Rink Rat went undefeated 8-0
to Capture their first National Championship.
2003: Mike played for TEAM CANADA at the World Championships in Pizek,
Czech Republic, Team Canada won the Bronze medal by beating France 6-1,
Mike had the game winning goal in the bronze medal game.
2003: Team Rink Rat played in the TORHS Detroit regional Pro Series and
beat the Tour Mudcats in the Championship game 7-6 in overtime to win the
$3000 prize.
2002: Team Rink Rat won the Thanksgiving Classic Tourney in Rhode Island.
This was Team Rink Rat's first Tourney victory.
During the 2001-2 season, Mike played for 3-time TORHS Pro Series
champions, Bauer Hyper Cyclones Pro Team in New York City. During this
season, the Cyclones were winners of the 2002 Toys for Tots Championship,
and Disney's Ultimate Inline Championship.
The Cyclones also raised $5,000
in the September 11 Benefit Game in Staten Island, NY. In 2001-2, Mike
also played for the NARHL team, the Boston Renegades. Mike also attended
Team Canada's try-out camp for the FIRS World Championships.
During the 2000-1 season Mike played for the Hystyk Vipers Pro Team in
Boston, MA. The Vipers won the 2001 Disney Ultimate Inline Championship
and the NARCh Qualifier Tournament in NYC. The Vipers also won several
Boston area league championships in the 2000-1 season in Newton, MA, and
the ECRHL Championship in Revere, MA. The Vipers also competed at NARCh
PRO in Estero, FL.
During the 1998-99 season, Mike played for the Bay State Buzz Pro Team in
Boston. The Bay State Buzz won the TORHS Regional Championships in
Dartmouth, MA. Mike also played in the TORHS National Championship All
Star Game in which he was named game MVP. The Buzz also won the first ever
TORHS Championship Tournament -- Mike was named tournament MVP.
Mike also played for the St. James Canucks in the Manitoba Major Junior
Hockey League in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
